Responsibilities:

  • Operates the fuel/lube truck. Perform repairs and maintenance on all Authority equipment and vehicles independently. Including fueling the vehicles.
  • Performs repairs on all small tools such as electric tapping machine, curb box cleaners, two- and four-cycle pumps and generators, pipe saws, tampers and all other small mechanical, gas or electrical- powered equipment.
  • Complies with all occupational safety and health standards and all RWA safety guidelines and rules which are applicable.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training with Vo-Tech diploma preferred.
  • Valid Connecticut CDL B license with Haz-Mat, Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement
  • A minimum of four years current experience and knowledge in the automobile and truck repair fields with a heavy emphasis in repairs of construction equipment, hydraulics, and heavy truck repair.
  • Experienced in the operation of construction equipment.
  • Reads, writes, and speaks English.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position.
  • Good driving record.
  • Computer skills.
  • Must pass a written and hands-on mechanical aptitude test.
  • Must have current knowledge in braking systems, both hydraulic and air, and other aspects pertaining to the repairs of Authority equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to use specialized equipment such as Tech 2 or Snap-On Modis diagnostic tools.
