POSITION SUMMARY

The Breakfast Attendant is a self-starter who can work well independently and with others, to deliver superior customer service to our guests in Table 43.1 in both buffet and a la carte environments. Attendants are there to ensure that dining areas remain inviting, clean, stocked, and visually pleasing to guests. Attendants handle all Food and Beverage purchases and transactions throughout service hours. This is a seasonal part-time position, paid at $20/hr.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Setting & refreshing the breakfast buffet (hot and cold food line) in accordance with Food Safety standards, ensures a visually pleasing display, providing all required serving utensils and menu labels or signage.
  • Maintains lobby coffee station, properly rotates, and dates dairy products as well as refills water towers.
  • Works closely with the Front Desk agents in Black Bear Lodge to secure an accurate and up to date rooming list of lodging guests.
  • Maintains a friendly presence during operating hours, warmly & promptly greeting guests and verifying their breakfast package.
  • Exercises sales skills to offer guests additional beverages or food items for purchase.
  • Effectively communicates with the culinary team to ensure timely and accurate a la carte orders, as well as timely re-stocks for the buffet items.
  • Responsibility charges for applicable items using POS System, adhering to cash handling policy and compliant with credit card transactions.
  • Consistently circulates dining room to clear and bus tables, refill beverages, and ensure an optimal dining experience.
  • Cleans dining room after service including wiping and sanitizing tables and chairs, vacuuming, contributing to dish washing and resets the room. Re-stocks all supplies including condiments, paper goods, dishware, glassware and/or folding linen napkins or polishing and rolling silverware.
  • Safely handling and disposing of food in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • DLC Certification (company will train and certify if needed)


Experience:
  • Previous food service preferred
  • Previous cash handling preferred
  • Previous customer service preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is required to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and walk with at least 40 pounds
  • Computer skills

Food Service Environment:
  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length at a time over an average shift of 5 hours.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to climb or balance and taste or smell.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: non-slip footwear and gloves.
