The Spirit of the Position:

LAZ Parking's large geographic footprint, diverse and wide ranging service lines, and unique deal structures have created an opportunity for a key position to participate as one of the primarily operations facing financial resource at the company. LAZ operates with a centralized finance function handling the corporate financials, client reporting, AR, AP, Payroll, and more, however the needs of the operations teams require local financial expertise. This expertise is provided by our 7 regional controllers nation wide who help operations to navigate daily business deals, help push forward strategic financial initiatives, track KPIs, perform financial analysis, and more.

This position was created to help provide strategic leadership to this talented group of controllers across the county bringing a united approach to their responsibilities, coaching and support, KPIs, business analytics, and more. This position will have aggressive strategic goals to drive key financial metrics in the regions, ensure validity and accuracy of financial information, and track the health of the business across the country.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight, support, and development of our regional controllers nationwide.
  • Set strategic initiatives and unified goals for the regional controller group
  • Enable best in class AR review practices across the regions and work with regional controller group to provide actionable information to operations teams
  • Coordination and shared oversight of the field bookkeeping teams
  • Working with BD to ensure accuracy, compliance, and maximize value of new deals
  • Facilitate the budget process through the regional controllers within each region
  • Facilitate the client budget process through the regional controllers within each region
  • Develop and track KPIs across the country to track financial health
  • Participate in the closing process across all regions and help to define and standardize the support from regional controllers within each region
  • Analyze major variances to budget and provide standardized template to track across regions
  • Help to facilitate the proper communications between home office, regional controllers, and regional operations teams
  • Drive compliance with CAPEX processes and ensure understanding exists amounts operations teams and regional controllers
  • Identify control gaps or areas of risks and mitigating controls to put in place nationwide to address these risks
  • Assist in Ad hoc financial requests by SVPs, Presidents, and Home Office and help to empower regional controllers to utilize all of the tools available at LAZ to address these requests
  • Provide support for new projects or initiatives being deployed with the region from a financial perspective
  • Ensure consistent new location processes and procedures exist across all regions and they are adhered to by regional controllers and operations team
  • Ensure consistent closed location processes and procedures exist across all regions and they are adhered to by regional controllers and operations team
  • Utilize LAZ data to perform analytics and develop key insights over regional performance.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial analysis or financial operations.
  • 5+ years experience in a manager role
  • Private sector accounting and analysis experience a plus

Education:

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or other Business discipline or equivalent work experience
