ROLE OVERVIEW
The primary role of the VDC Specialist is to implement Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes throughout the design and construction phases of projects. VDC Specialists play a pivotal role in leading MEP/FP BIM coordination processes and teams across a diverse portfolio of projects, encompassing various building types, sizes, owners, and locations. RESPOSIBILITIES and FUNCTIONS
1. Lead VDC processes using appropriate technology platforms, which may include but are not limited to:
* Existing conditions modeling and conditioning from 3D scans
* 3D visualization
* 3D coordination
* 3D project controls and planning
* Phase planning (4D)
* Site analysis
* Design and constructability reviews
* Site utilization planning
* Assist in construction system design.
* Assist in model-based cost estimation.
* Digital fabrication
* As-Built modeling
2. Develop 2D/3D project models and create work logistics to support business development and project pursuit.
3. Act as the point of contact for construction team members regarding VDC processes and provide reports during all construction phases.
4. Document work processes to enhance or modify current company process standards.
5. Assign issues and produce meeting agendas and minutes.
6. Other duties may include:
* Assist in training on VDC processes.
* Actively participate in the STOBG VDC CEI community of best practices and knowledge sharing.
* Engage in daily work planning.

3. Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software, and relevant web applications.

5. Ability to interpret and communicate STOBG/Local SBU policies.
6. Effective communication skills for collaboration with construction field personnel, construction executives, architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.
7. Presentation and public speaking skills, creative problem-solving skills, organization and planning, attention to detail, an eye for aesthetics, and quality control.
8. Openness to change based on diverse input and feedback.
9. Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should meet the following education and experience criteria:
1. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent years of experience.
2. High-level competency with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk BIM Collaborate.
3. Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Point Cloud, Autodesk ReCap, and Google Earth Pro.
4. Familiarity with Parametric Analysis solutions (Dynamo, Grasshopper, Solibri),
5. Intermediate to advanced visualization, animation and rendering capabilities using Enscape, 3DS Max. 2D/3D post-production capabilities using Adobe Creative suite is preferred.
6. Previous related experience is a plus.
